Fun Friday

Thursday was pretty uneventful. Samuel got a bath, and is starting to enjoy them. He's still in the blue baby tub, of course, but I filled it extra full so it was more like a regular bath. He was kicking his legs and moving his arms. And he even laughed and cooed at the end. Of course coming OUT of the tub, getting lotioned up, and into jammies is still pretty traumatic.  :) But we're getting there!

Friday was a busy day.

Side note: I'm currently under maternity orders with the Navy and I work in the Command Career Counselor office. We take care of Sailors and help them with all things career-related. One of my jobs is to process the reenlistment requests that come in, print up the certificates, schedule everything on the calendar, and request the official contracts from the Personnel Office down the street.

On Friday we had 4 (!!) reenlistments. They were at 8, 8:30, and 9 at work, and one at 10:30 at the USS Wisconsin in downtown Norfolk. I had all the paperwork ready to go on Thursday afternoon, to help things run smoothly on Friday. The reenlistment at the USS Wisconsin was especially exciting because it was a young female Boatswain's Mate that was being reenlisted by a female Lieutenant. The LT and I worked at NAS Oceana from 2004-2007 when she was still enlisted. So I've known her a long time, before she put in her commissioning package. Here are some of the photos from the event...

On Saturday, Jacob had to work. Boo! The frustrating part was the fact that he didn't get home Friday night until 9 PM and had to be back to work on Saturday at 6 AM!!! Standing duty in the Navy is never fun.  :(

Samuel and I went to visit my friend Rebecca whom I haven't seen in about a year. She got off deployment the day before my due date, and she was anxious to meet Samuel. Of course I got a few pictures of our favorite leprechaun in his special St. Patty's day outfit. Thanks G'ma Hatfield!!

And we are looking forward to a visit next weekend from Aunt Amanda and (soon to be) Uncle Matt! Can't wait for their wedding in December!!

Thanks for reading!

  2. Hey, Ashley - loved the pictures! I'm so glad you got to visit with your friend - especially since Jacob had to work. The pictures of the reenlistment and the ship were neat to see, too. But of course the BEST was the pictures of your little guy. He sure seems to be a trooper. Hopefully he will learn to LOVE his bath very soon. It looks like Gma Hatfield is taking really good care of him. :) YEA that Amanda and Matt are coming for a visit. That will be WONDERFUL!!!!!
