By the way, I just love saying "....with my boys." :)
We had a great weekend. Originally I thought Jacob would have to work on Saturday but he didn't have to. Yeah! Samuel woke up at 5:45 AM on Saturday and we hung out. This is actually pretty late for him. I usually wake him up around 5:15-5:30 during the week. All evening on Thursday he had been trying to roll over.....AND HE DID IT ON SATURDAY!!! All the practice on Thursday (with grunts, groans, and a few farts) :) proved to work because Mission: Accomplished. He rolled from him back, to the right, onto his belly. And then he'd get frustrated because he couldn't roll BACK to his back. Sigh. This baby... :)
We had some lunch and got the car ready to drive out to VA Beach. I was really worried that we would miss the Easter bunny since it was only from 10-2 PM. We arrived at the Oceana Stables at 1:30 PM. There was 1 family with 2 children ahead of us. Perfect! For a measly $5 we got 2 (!!) photos of Samuel with the Easter bunny. He was more preoccupied staring at a pink tablecloth to really want to smile, so I got to be "that Mama" that acts totally silly to get her baby to smile. We did get a smile picture, and a serious one as well. But no tears! We walked around a bit, Samuel got to see some horses, he did a LOT of sneezing due to the hay and pollen, and we left.
My sweet friend Amy, who watched Samuel for me about a month ago when I was in a pinch, was working at the scrapbook store around the corner. I sweet talked Jacob to let me run in to say hi and let her see Samuel. And I bought a few things to scrapbook Easter. ;) But it was all worth it- I treated Jacob to El Tapatio, OUR Mexican restaurant. We've been eating there since 2003 or 2004. We've moved away, come back, brought our family there, ate there during my pregnancy, and now we're bringing Lil Bit. So it's OUR place.
Later in the day I dropped off Jacob at the house and Samuel and I headed out to visit a buddy of mine from my last Navy command. He and his wife are good friends of mine, and they wanted to love on Samuel. And boy was he a trooper! A full day and he didn't lose his cool. Just like his Daddy.
Sunday was pretty mellow. We Skyped with my parents and sister Amy, and Samuel showed them his rolling over skills. All in all it was a great weekend.
I am currently at work :) so I can't post photos right now. But I will add some later on this evening. Have a great day!
Thanks for reading!
