The Thomas Family

This is our "normal" right now...

Papa Bear
- Will be reenlisting for 6 more years on June 1st (his birthday!!!!)
- Already thinking about going back to sea duty this summer and how he will miss his Lil' Buddy
- Working hard to provide for his family
- Is an amazing father to Samuel, and it's obvious when he walks in the door and Samuel's entire body lights up at the sight of his Papa. AND the huge hug Samuel gives him!
- Always willing to help me out with anything. All I have to do is ask. Team Thomas!

Mama Bear
- Anxious about the advancement results in June and praying she gets advanced so she can stay in the Navy
- Still scrapbooking even though she was told she wouldn't have time with a small baby
- Is back to running 3 times a week, not as fast as she'd like but she's getting there!
- Still hates to cook but is getting better about grocery shopping on Sunday afternoons so there's food in the house
- Never imagined that being a Mama to a son could be so much FUN! And dreading the days of bugs, blisters, and blood.  :)

Baby Bear
- Wakes up Every. Single. Morning. with a smile on his face
- Is now eating cereal in his bottle to fill his round belly
- Likes baths more now. No tears!
- Has cradle cap
- REALLY wants to crawl, and gets frustrated that he hasn't figured it out. Yet.

I'm super excited that it's already Wednesday night. This time next week my sisters Amanda AND Amy will be here and it will be SHEER CRAZINESS!!! The last time all 3 of us were together was during my baby shower in August. And we were supervised by our Mom. That job will be handed over to Jacob for this visit. And I've got some fun stuff in store for their visit. Did I mention that Amy hasn't met Samuel yet???  :)

As for this weekend, the plan is- nothing! Except get the housework done. I have accepted that I can't do it all (not just with housework, with life in general) so I do a thorough cleaning every other weekend, and hit the "high spots" on the off weekends. I also have my monthly scrapbook class, and this time I plan to scrapbook ME.  :)

Have a good Thursday!

  1. Awww... sweet little update. :)
AR had cradle cap, too. I generally just tried to gently scrub her head at bath time, but that made no difference. Then my ped suggested using Selson Blue on her head. That made the slightest difference but also made her smell like medicated shampoo after a bath instead of that priceless freshly cleaned baby smell. Then I tried the "natural" method of using olive oil on her head and gently combing the flakes loose... it worked! I did it just one more time to get the last few, and she has not had ANY since then! Just thought I'd pass that along in case you haven't tried it. :)
