This has been a nutty week. I'm working downstairs in 800 Division with the other PRs, and we have the "too many Chiefs, not enough Indians" situation going on. Three of us got promoted to first class..... and they don't know what to do with us! So I'm trying to figure out where I fit in a new job, new work center, AND keep myself busy. Not an easy task.
Wednesday was rough because I walked in the door and right into the Chief's office to get yelled at :( and then 20 minutes later got yelled at again for a Sailor doing something wrong. And I didn't even know what he did! Ah, the life of a leader. Always on my toes.
The good news is that I squeaked enough to get myself a job. For the last 2 days I've been "working the window"- taking care of squadron Sailors that stop by to drop off and pick up gear. It's high tempo from 7-11AM, but I enjoy it. I'm hoping that when I get back off vacation I can go right back to that job.
And people kept asking all day where PR1 Thomas, the male version, was. Even the FedEx girl! :) When I told them he'd transferred, and that I was his wife, a lot of people thought I was joking. (about being his wife) All I had to do was pull out my phone and show them Samuel and the response was "Oh, yeah, that's definitely PR1's baby. It looks just like him!!!" ;)
So here's a few photos from the past few days...
Wednesday Samuel had his 6 month appt. My little boy weights 18 lbs, 11 oz and is 26 inches long. He's growing right on track, and is healthy and happy.
The nurse touched it. Why can't I?
Love the rolls on his back! ;)
Trying to entertain him while we wait
Tearing paper is FUN! And it makes a cool noise, too!
My best friend Christina has been working for over a year to become an RN. And last night she got pinned. I'm so proud of her!
Waiting to get pinned
Chris and her Mom, Sue, who came in town to pin her
Saying the Florence Nightingale Oath
And today we got fun mail!
The Omaha Steaks box really does taste like steak!
Checking out his new Life Is Good onesie
That's Jimbo from Gymboree
He makes noise
You can't see it, but Samuel had a piece of cardboard, the onesie, and the clown. He kept going back and forth between the 3 of them, not sure which was the most exciting. But tasting them all!
And I had to post this one...
(That's Jacob behind him)
It just cracks me up because this is SO Samuel right now- checking everything out, on the move, and loving life. I love that it's totally out of focus because he's already moving on to the next thing. :)
Have a great weekend!
What a fun post. I am so glad Samuel loved the box of goodies. The clown is just the right size for him to handle. Sooooo happy you have a few days off now for vacation! Love you all.
