Catching up- December Daily, Days 10-15

It's true what my G'mother Short said on the phone today, "Once December gets here, it's like the days just fly by!!!" This is SO true! Here it is December 15th, Jacob will be home in a few days, and Christmas is in ten days! Wow!!

Samuel and I have been rocking along. This week we celebrated his 1st birthday, I had a potluck at work (that's what all the helicopter cookies were for!), we visited my girlfriend Chris out in Hampton (not to be confused with The Hamptons), and we went to a church production of "Mary, Did You Know?".

Samuel did very well sitting through the play tonight. He made it about 1/3 of the way into it, then decided he wanted to tell me all about playing with Chris' dog. ("Dogga, dogga, dogga!") So we went to the observation room, where he lasted until his bedtime- 7:15 PM. Then it was all over with. Needless to say, putting him to sleep tonight was a piece of cake!  :)

Without further ado, here are my pages from the past 6 days....

Day 10- Easy Day
(A phrase we used all the time in boot camp- as in, lots of running and push ups? Easy Day!!)
Picture, stickers, washi tape, stamps, Staz-On used to stamp on photo

Day 11- Front side
Pictures of cookies, stickers at bottom- Milk and Cookies

Back of Day 11- picture and journaling

Day 12
I mixed it up today, and I'll probably do this from now on. My baby turned 1!!!!!  :)

I used party paper for these pages, and I'm very happy with how they turned out.
Top page is a half page- puffy gift embellishment, label, stickers, stamps.

Back of page- letter to Samuel from Mommy and Daddy
Additional page has pictures from his party (just the 2 of us)- puffy hat embellishment, chipboard starburst, sticker lifted with pop dots

Day 13- Office Potluck & Gift Exchange.
Why I made all the helicopter cookies.  :)

Day 14- A letter to Samuel, asking for his patience. Daddy will be home soon!

Additional pages added. I didn't date them, but wanted them to be in my book.

On left- a page my Mom made.
She stamped "Dear Santa", and I wrote a letter to him asking for him to bring my husband home.

On the right- homemade wrapping paper Samuel made at daycare. Of course all the other children (2 years older than him) stamped all over with their hands and feet. My son? A hand and a foot.
He's his Mama's child.  ;)

Day 15- Flyer from church play we went to. (I need to date them)

On left- backside of flyer with picture of Samuel and I.
On the right- program from the play.

It was really easy to get caught up tonight. I'm trying to pay attention to what MY style is and go with that. Since Jacob is gone (and I'm so tired!) I'm going with 1-2 pictures and some embellishments. Some days I journal, some days I don't. I'm taking Ali Edwards' motto, "Don't make things more complicated then they need to be", to the fullest.

Thanks for looking!  :)
