For those of you that don't know, my husband is currently out to sea with the US Navy. We are both active duty, but right now he's the one that goes to sea. I know that I should count my blessings that he'll be home for Christmas. (this is just a short ride) There are MANY people who won't have their loved ones for the holidays. After the day I had yesterday, and the tears that Samuel and I BOTH shed, I came up with my idea for Day 8 of my December Daily album...
I started out with a piece of cream paper matted on the argyle paper. I wanted to use some different tags to list my blessings. I felt that the paper was too busy, so I put a piece of vellum over it to soften the pattern. (Remember vellum? I know you have some!!)
This is the completed page.
I used various patterns and solids to punch out some different tag shapes. (Stampin' Up!, EK Succes, and Marvy) The tags were a good excuse to use up some of my Christmas brads. I glued the tags to the vellum, and then put adhesive under the vellum UNDER the tags, so they could keep it hidden. (The page isn't loose.)
And this is how Samuel kept himself busy while I worked on my album...
"Mommy has paper punches?!? I LOVE paper punches!!!"
"How many does she have???"
"Oh, no! I've been caught!"
Samuel was here. :)
Thanks for looking!
Love seeing your little explorer. :) Kids sure know how to get into things, don't they.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you had a hard day. :( I think the Navy should build a new base in land-locked TN so you can get stationed here and I can HANG OUT WITH YOU on days like this! :)
