Thursday I was awake at 4:20 AM!!! I was ready by 5, and then it was time to get Samuel up. I was hoping to change his nappy and then get on the road. Nope! My baby was hungry! After he ate, I got him situated in the carseat and we were off to Kathi's Pitter Patter Childcare. I found a GREAT home childcare through word of mouth from my coworker, Angela. She has been taking her daughter to Kathi's since she was 6 weeks old, and Madeline is now 2. I was able to get a spot with Kathi before Samuel was even born, so as soon as I went back to work we had a place for him to go.
Kathi watches 5 children in her home with Samuel being #5. And he's the ONLY boy and the ONLY baby!! So he gets loved on and played with and pampered all day while I'm at work. :) Kathi has had him 2 days and I can already see him changing. She's able to keep him up longer, so he naps longer. Yeah! She's also introducing him to lots of visual stimulation and that's helping him strengthen his neck muscles and made him more curious about life. I can't really explain it, but I know he's in great care while I'm at work. It's so nice- the first day she texted me a few times to let me know he was awake, doing well, eating. That just made the transition THAT much smoother. And I did really well- no tears. :)
Of course I made sure to love all over him on Wednesday since it was our last day together. And I took lots of pictures. Here they are, including the goof ups, because they're so funny.
OK Mama, what are we doing?
I would love to smile for you!
Look lady, you're getting boring.
Did you get a good picture of my belly?
That's it. I'm done!
This morning Samuel decided we needed to get up at 4! Jacob was sweet enough to get up with him and feed him so I could sleep for 20 more minutes. I was tired after my first day at work! After I got ready, Samuel and I went downstairs. I laid him in the pack 'n play while I finished packing my lunch, and he was perfectly content to hang out!! This hasn't really happened before. Usually he'll last about 4 minutes and then he's fussy. I'm sure Kathi has had something to do with it. It was such a relief. I was able to eat breakfast at home, as opposed to in the car. And I took some more pictures...
Samuel in his jammies
I could just eat those cheeks!!!
Jacob does NOT have to work this weekend. Yeah!!! We both had busy weeks (even though I only worked 2 days) so when we got home tonight, all 3 of us took naps. Samuel slept 3 hours before I woke him up to eat!! I'm hoping his sleep schedule won't be too jacked up. I really don't want him up at 5 AM tomorrow. We'll see... Thanks for reading!
These pictures are PRICELESS! He is sooooo cute...and I love his smile!! I'm still chuckling that he's spending his day with 4 little mothers AND a caregiver. That is hilarious. It sounds like he's in great hands. What a blesing! I hope you three have a wonderful weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's exciting to see Samuel smile. What a sweet baby! I'm so happy you all have found a wonderful caregiver. It's a God thing!
