Getting to know you, getting to know all about yooooouuuuuuu!!!!

I've been challenged...
My sweet friend Rebecca Guilford Kubo posted this on her blog and I decided to join in. Here we go!

Here are the rules:1.  You must post the rules and link up who tagged you.
2.  Post eleven fun facts about yourself.
3.  Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post, and then create eleven new questions to ask the people you've tagged.
4.  Tag eleven as many people as you want and link them on your post.
5.  Let them know you've tagged them

I'm not tagging anyone because I have no idea how to do that, but I will post 11 fun facts and answer the questions.

FUN FACTS:
1. My favorite color is purple. My computer and desk at home are purple, and I could wear it every day. Jacob said we could NOT paint our room purple, but when we bought our house the former owners had painted most of the rooms random shades of purple! There was even purple wallpaper in the dining room!!! And I hated ALL the shades of purple!  :)
2. I really like to run. I got into running while on deployment in 2010, and ran through my 1st trimester with Samuel. (2 miles, 3x a week) I'm getting back into it. I'm slow, but I'll get there!
3. I hate to cook, but I love to grocery shop. I would pay someone to cook for me full time.
4. I love to clean and organize. In the bathroom, my favorite thing to clean is the toilet.
5. I love doing laundry as well.
6. I get a real sense of pride each time I put on my uniform to go to work. When people thank me for my service, I gladly say "You're welcome." I really love serving my country. (And on Wed I will have served 12 years!!!!!!!!!)
7. I dated Jacob for 6 years before we got married. And right before he proposed I had a whole speech prepared for what I was going to say. And what did I do when he asked? Cried and said yes.  :)
8. Never in a million years did I think I would have a son. On the way to the hospital, my mom said (over the phone) "You know, there's always a chance it could be a boy. You need to be prepared." Nah. And when I was told it was a boy I laughed out loud and said "Shut up! Shut up! You have GOT to be kidding me!!!" And continued to laugh. At myself. For thinking I knew what was best for me. Only God does.
9. I could eat licorice until it makes me sick. And then I'll stop for awhile. And then eat it again.
10. I don't like to drive. I'd rather be driven.
11. I am really, truly happy with my life.

11 Questions:
1. What did you want to be when you grew up? A librarian at the big public library downtown in Knoxville, TN so I could read all the books2.  What is your favorite dessert? molten chocolate cake from Chili's- Jacob used to bribe me when we lived in Japan to drive him to Yokosuka and he would treat me to it  :)
3.  What is your favorite birthday memory? my dad made peanut butter chocolate milkshakes at my slumber party one year4.  What is your favorite day of the week and why? Sunday- there's nothing like a FAMILY day. And I like to get everything laid out for the nex day: uniforms, boots, Samuel's outfit, my backpack in the car, my lunch packed, and the house straighted up before bed.5.  Share a favorite childhood memory. :) walking to and from school each day with my sisters6.  What is a tradition you are excited to incorporate into your own family (in the future or currently)? opening stocking before gifts on Christmas morning, making Christmas cookies7.  What is a favorite book you have read? Heaven Is For Real8.  What is the best/favorite Christmas gift you have received? One year I received 2 Ashley dolls- they were made by Mattel/Barbie. I thought it was SO COOL that I got 2!!! (Santa bought one, hid it, lost it, bought another one, found the original one, and gave me both!)  ;)9.  What makes you laugh the hardest? Jacob and Samuel10.  What does your typical weekend look like? Get home friday afternoon after barely surviving VA traffic. Unload the car and Samuel. Change out of my uniform, boots and backpack in the closet. Once Jacob gets home I start the first of 2 loads of darks. (our cammies are Navy blue) Chill out and usually nap on the couch. Crawl into bed. Wake up Saturday around 6ish with Samuel (or Jacob does). If I do, Jacob gets up a little bit later and lets me go back to sleep.  :) Sleep until 10-11ish. I know, I'm blessed. Work on laundry and chores. Watch a movie on TV. Play in bonus room/do crafty stuff in the evening while Jacob plays a video game and Samuel naps. Go to bed around 11-12ish. Sunday I REALLY want to get back into church. I'm ashamed that we went 2 Sundays ago and Samuel has been sick the past few weeks. So church, home, relax, and prep for the week. Whew!11.  Did you "collect" anything as a child?  What was it?  What did you do with your collection (still have it, gave it away, etc.)? I collected stickers, and my sisters and I had a TON of Barbies. I know that my Mom still has the Barbies. As for the stickers, I think they are long gone.
