Lately I've really been into making mini albums. On Saturday, May 5th, I went to a scrapbook event at my local scrapbook store. My main goal- get my gift for my Mom finished. I'm proud to say it was in the mail and at her house by Wednesday afternoon. I think she's going to love it. Here it is...
I started with a "bare bones" album kit. The album was light brown (kraft) in color, and I knew I wanted to decorate it with a "vintage" theme. My Mom really likes this line of paper, so I knew it'd be perfect. (Side note: last time she was here, she used some of it. I didn't realize how much until I got to work on my album and had limited paper!) ;)
Front cover of the album- I assembled the accordian album (you'll see the inside below) and painted around the edges in black the night before. That way it would be ready to decorate at the crop*. (*Crop- when scrapbookers get together and scrapbook or work on craft projects, it's called a crop.) The For The Record, green trim, and the bird are all stickers from the paper line.
This is the back. I used red gaffer's tape to cover the spine. The sticker at the bottom says Made by: with my signature on it.
When you open the album, there's a pocket I made with a place for a note.
I made files and decorated each one to be a mini scrapbook page. I arranged all the files so that each tab would spell out "We" "Love" "You" "So" "Much".
Here you can see the accordian. I only used flat embellishments (decorations) so the book would close and lay flat. This way she could put it in her purse if she wanted to.
File #1- (all pictures converted to Black & White to add to the vintage feel)
G'ma and G'pa Hatfield with Samuel at El Tapatio.
Back of File #1- Samuel and Daddy on Easter Sunday.
File #2- Samuel and Aunt Amy in the kitchen.
Back of File #2- my sisters and I.
**I'm not showing the front of File #3 since it discloses Secret Wedding Stuff. ;)
Back of File #3- Jacob and I on a lunch date to Taco Bell.
Front of File #4- Amanda and Amy in Amanda's car, headed down to VA. Can you guess which sister is happy to be driving, and which sister WISHES SHE was driving???

I hope you enjoyed my project!
I LOVE MY ALBUM and feel honored to have received it. Thanks for all the hard work!
