The results are in

As of 8:02 AM today I found out I GOT ADVANCED TO PETTY OFFICER FIRST CLASS!!!!!!!! There are now 2 PR1 Thomases in our house!!!  :) I have been waiting and going nuts trying to find out something. I had a feeling we would either find out today, or they'd make us wait until Tuesday after the long weekend. Luckily that wasn't the case. This means that 1) I got advanced, 2) I've been approved to reenlist, and 3) I can retire from the Navy. This is SUCH an answer to prayer! I plan to reenlist next year, probably in March, before my contract is up in April. At that time I will have 13 (!) years in the Navy. I want to sign on for another 6 years, and that will put me at 19 years. Then I just have to extend for the last 12 months and I can retire at 20 years of Active Duty Service. I hope I didn't confuse you.  :) All of this in a nutshell-----> JOB SECURITY. And who can say that nowadays?...

So I got to leave work early and go pick up Samuel. Jacob got us reservations at P.F. Chang's, and one of my girlfriends offerred to babysit so we could have a nice dinner. We wanted to go see a movie, but they were all showing pretty late. Instead, we walked around the mall and window shopped. I did come home with a new bodywash, lotion, and some hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works.  :)

Samuel is sound asleep, Jacob is playing Fallout on the X-Box, and I'm checking out blogs on the computer. A good day was had by all.  :)
