No paparazzi today

Last night was a little crazy. I'm hoping we don't repeat it tonight. For one thing, I broke my #1 cardinal Mommy rule- No babies in our bed. Samuel woke up at 2 AM. I rocked him and I guess we both fell asleep because I woke up at 2:30 AM in his room in the glider. I put him in bed and headed back to my room. He woke up again...and this is where things get fuzzy. I know I went in his room at some point to soothe him. I know I woke up patting and "Shushing" my pillow, thinking it was him. (he was crying in the monitor) And I remember going back in his room where he was STANDING UP IN BED, picking him and his truck blankie up, and bringing him into our room.

I HATE the idea of having him in our bed for many reasons- 1. He will think that's where he needs to sleep each night, 2. Neither of us will sleep, and 3. For safety reasons, I don't want him rolling out of the bed. But when you're home alone and the alarm goes off at 4:15 AM and 4:30 AM  :) you have to do what you have to do. I can't function without sleep. I just can't. So why does he want to kick me in the ribs and touch my face when we're supposed to be sleeping?!? Really??!!?? Silly boy.  :) He woke up at 5:12 AM, right on schedule. Even my alarms didn't bother him!

We've been trying out some new Stage 2 foods, and I'm afraid his little tummy is having trouble processing them. He eats like a champ! Anything, really. Even adult food. I even let him sample my chili last night because he was opening his mouth for it. The food goes in...but it's not coming out.  :(

So I didn't get any pictures today. It's been roughly 100 degrees out, I had PT (physical training) today in the gym, and a baby with a sore tummy who had to be rocked to sleep at 7:45 PM.

The paparazzi took a break today. But don't worry! We'll be back in full swing tomorrow. And I have a fun post as well.  :)

Thanks for reading!

  1. Hey, Ashley - I'm so sorry you two had a rough night. Processing new foods can be "interesting."
I hope his tummy settles down soon. As for food coming out...a lot of babies can have that issue for even 4-5 days. (Becca has dealt with that before with her little ones.) Usually if you wait it out it will be fine. I'm praying that you get some quality sleep tonight! Love you, amazing Mama!

  2. Keep up the good work. His system will get use to the food in no time. I hope everyone settles into a routine right away. Love you.
