We had a Sailor that took his life the week before, and I attended the funeral on Thursday with my fellow Sailors. It was a tough thing to do and made me want to hug my boys extra tight that night. We finished off the week with warm weather....and an answer to prayer!!!
I have been praying and trying (unsuccessfully) to not worry about where I'm going when I leave my command in November. Since Jacob and I are married (we are considered military to military, mil to mil for short) we don't get to pick orders like single Sailors. I have been emailing the Detailer since JUNE asking him what I should do. There wasn't anything available for an E-6, on shore duty, in this area. I was getting really nervous that he wouldn't honor our mil to mil paperwork and would send me out of the area. On Friday, at the last minute, I decided to check my email before going home. And that's when I saw it....an email from the Detailer. I was soooo nervous when I opened it.
I'm getting stationed RIGHT DOWN THE STREET FROM WHERE I CURRENTLY WORK, inspecting helicopter commands as part of an Inspection Team. How cool is that?!? God is so good!!! :) I will be there for 3 years, on shore duty. If we expand our family, it won't be a problem. All I could say was "Thank you God" over and over. Such a relief!!!
So I floated out of work on Friday. After picking up Samuel, we got home (Jacob beat us there!) and Samuel got happy mail from Great-G'ma and Great-G'pa Stevens.
I like this little box. It's for me!
Cheese!
Mmmm! Tastes like Goo Goo Clusters! ;)
Maybe Mommy won't notice if I eat a small piece.
I just hold it for safe keeping.
Good, she's distracted!
"Samuel!"
"Oh man! She caught me!!"
I love plastic bags!
This is the best cup ever!!!
(Shaking it with excitement)
It's just the right size!
What?!? It doesn't come with milk???
While going through the wrapping, I found an extra present...
Hey Meme! We have your 1.5 inch tailpiece washer. :)

It was a pretty low key weekend. Jacob will be gone all week so I worked like a mad woman to get the house cleaned, all the laundry done, and groceries in the fridge. I get SO tired when it's just Samuel and I, so I made sure to stock the fridge to prevent any last minute trips to the store.
On Saturday, Samuel took the opportunity to play while Mommy and Daddy were distracted...
Oh man!!!
Have a good week!
Hey, Ashley - I am SO thankful for the answered prayer about your assignment. Praise the Lord!!!!
