Navy brat

I'm not sure what happened, but this was supposed to post back in January??? Even though it's old, it's too cute not to post. Enjoy!  :)

Since Jacob and I are both active duty, Samuel has to get a military ID card as a baby. This way if one of us is out to sea, the other one can take care of his appointments and things.

I was pretty stressed last Friday (Jan 6th) about getting it accomplished. It was Jacob's first day back to work, and my first day with Samuel all day. I had Jacob's car and had to get Samuel in his carseat, in the car, to Norfolk, AND keep him entertained until our appt. Did I mention we didn't actually HAVE an appt??? I pumped that little boy full of food so he'd sleep as long as possible. He actually did pretty good! He didn't wake up until about 30 minutes before our name was called, and only had a wet diaper so I didn't have to undress him to change him. (We were sitting in a drafty hallway, and I knew if I undressed him he'd go nuts.)

We were very fortunate to have a wonderful civilian lady take care of us, and she had 2 boys!! I asked her a bunch of baby boy questions and got some good tips to keep our Houdini from peeing on himself when he sleeps. When it came time for Samuel to have his picture taken, Jacob held him up for the camera. Samuel did NOT seem pleased with this idea, as you can see on his face. Now he's officially in the system as a Navy brat!

He was such a lil' fella' back then!  :)
