Dictionary.com defines each as...
Resolute (-ion)- characterized by firmness and determination, as the temper, actions, etc.
Goal- the result or achievement toward which effort is directed; aim.
So here are my goals :) for Jacob's deployment in no particular order...
Ashley's Deployment Goals (I know, I'm really original)
- follow a daily devotional
- run at least twice a week
- update Project Life each week
- mail a care package to Jacob each month
* include 4x6 album (the 99 cent ones) of photos
- sew curtains for large kitchen window
- sew The Very Grouchy Ladybug quilt for Samuel
- sew Happy Colors quilt for myself
- treat myself to a massage (after work, before picking up Samuel) once a month
- scrub the kitchen floor
- organize the master bedroom closet
- sort through all my clothes/shoes and donate old/outdated/too small stuff
- clean out Samuel's closet
- paint the front entryway/hall leading into the kitchen
These are all things that I want to do and I look forward to doing. (Yes, even scrubbing the kitchen floor. :)) I'll keep you updated on my progress.
Lastly, my focus word for this year (see Ali's blog for explanation) will be PRESENT, as in, to be in the present. I remember in 2010, thinking Can we just get this deployment over with??? I need to be HERE, NOW, for Jacob while he's here, but also for Samuel. I am his Mama, and I need to enjoy each day with him, not be counting down each day, wishing it away, to have Jacob back. I won't be participating in the online class though.
Sorry for the heavy post. I've just had all this on my mind, and I really wanted to put it down on
Thanks for reading!
That sounds like a great goal list, Ashley!
ReplyDeleteI have been thinking I need to at least nail down my craft-related goals. I need a plan for how to finish and complete somethings I have been wanting to finish for awhile and some new projects I'd really like to try. If I just leave it at "I want to do x, y, and z" that is less likely to happen.
Also, I wish I could come help you with the painting, organizing, and cleaning out!!
Great list Ashley! Sounds like your time will be fruitful and you will be enjoying every moment with your little guy while you wait for his Daddy to come home. We will be praying for you!!!...and enjoying your blog. :)
DeleteThat's a great list!! I have a lot of goals this year. I think I'll put them on my blog.
