So, no more sadness! On to happy things!! :]
This weekend has been nice and quiet. Jacob had duty on the ship on New Year's Eve, so Samuel and I just hung out at home. He was in his crib by 7PM (tired boy!), and I stayed up to take an online paper craft class with my Mom.
Technology is wonderful! I had the class on U-stream on my computer, my Mom on FaceTime on the iPad, and her friend Ann, in Nashville, TN, was on Skype on her phone. So we were all 3 connected!! It was really neat. The class ended at 3AM!!! Pre-Samuel, this wouldn't have been a problem, but now that he's here.... I was tired today!!! The class was worth it though, and I plan to take others from Laura Denison, the instructor.
In other news, Project Life 2012 is DONE!!!!!!!!! You have NO IDEA how excited I am!!! One album done, another to start. I've been reading blogs today on the web where other crafters are talking about starting their albums for the new year. I'm excited. There's nothing like a brand new album, empty page protectors, and NEW STUFF to play with!!! :) Can you tell I'm excited?!? ;) And I'm tickled to death that my girlfriends Rebecca (besties since 6th grade homeroom!) and Kate (my scrappy VA buddy) will be joining me doing their own Project Life albums this year. Yeah!!!
So here are my final pages from December... (some pictures also went in Dec Daily, and I'm OK with that)
Dec 3-9
I used Christmas paper for my date blocks for the last month of the year
Dec 10-16
Dec 17-23
Rebecca- This is a good way to keep track of your childrens' prescriptions ;)
Dec 24-31
My goal was to finish up in 1 week. Since I start my PL week on Monday, this week features 8 days. The final block is punched stars stitched on vellum.
Now, I know that sewing on paper is very popular, but I have to be honest, I've only done it 3 times and I CRINGE each time!!! :{ Since I sew for the Navy, as well as personally, I know the damage this does to my machine. If you see it on my crafts, it's pretty rare! :)
My final spread---> Highlights of Twenty Twelve
Originally I'd planned on printing a picture of the 3 of us in 12x12 size, but I decided I liked this better. Pictures are of Samuel at 3, 6, 9, and 12 months of age. Highlights listed in the bottom left hand corner.
All done! This baby is PACKED! I obviously had more important things people to photograph this year! :)
Tomorrow I'm going to talk about my goals for 2013, namely, my goals for Jacob's deployment. I've got some lists in mind that I'd like to accomplish, and I think that posting them will help keep me accountable. And since he'll be gone the majority of the year, this will help keep me busy. As if I'm not busy enough running after a little boy! ;)
Onward! ---->
I'm sorry such a hard thing is on the horizon. :( But I am very excited to do PL with you!! :) And I'm counting down til March--I can't wait to see you!! Praying you feel the Lord's presence each day and especially after Jacob deploys.
