Timeline

October 25, 1999- He joined the Navy

March 14, 2000- I joined the Navy

August 25, 2000- I was stationed at VF-32 in Virginia Beach, VA

July 4th weekend, 2002- My squadron went on a detachment to Fallon, NV and I walked into a Paraloft and saw the cutest guy ever!!! And then went on to embarrass myself in front of him. Twice. Over the next few weeks in NV, I would walk from my hangar to his to get chicken salad sandwiches and hope that I could catch a glimpse of him. By the time I left NV, I had 4 sandwiches in my fridge in the barracks because I bought them EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. They got thrown away.  ;)

We got back to VA and he said he'd call. But his apartment power had been shut off. Instead of thinking I'd been stood up, I had a feeling something had happened.

We hung out in September and October (2002), and he eventually asked me to be his girlfriend. I liked him. A LOT! And that scared me. So I told him that I wanted to "keep my options open." Stupid, I know.

We went on deployment in November 2002-May 2003. Our last port, England, we hung out on Liberty together. We got back underway and I said he should ask me out. He waited about 5 minutes and then asked me out. I said yes.

We walked off the ship on May 23, and started dating May 25. (My Mom and G'parents came in town for 2 days to see me)

We spent the next 3 years together in VA. He took orders to Japan in November 2006. I prayed about joining him, and felt lead to go.

I joined him in Japan in April 2007.

We pulled in to Hawaii on July 1, 2008. He had me pick out my own ring (sneaky guy!) on July 2. He went back and bought it while I was on duty on July 3. He proposed on the beach on July 4, 2008.

We got married July 18, 2009.

That was 3 years ago.

I have known Jacob since 2002. Did I mention that my boss tried to hook us up waaaaaaay back but Jacob turned him down?? Little did he know, the "cute little Airman with nothing to do after work" was me.

I've known him 10 years. We dated for 6 years. We were engaged just over a year. We've been married for 3 years.

The beginning of a WONDERFUL, LAUGHTER-FILLED, CRAZY, NAVY life together!!!
